Well after a couple of years of lusting I am now finally the proud owner of the one, the only, the Monstruo.

Kinja'd!!!

I bought a Monster S2R 800, with factory optioned full Termis and basically every Carbon option on the catalogue, the engine cover things on the side, the exhaust, even the front splashguard (don’t know what it’s called in English, happy if somebody can tell me I mean the thing on top of the tire)

It has a bit over 10k miles and was owned by the same guy for 10 years.

I’m really happy with it, the torque is insane and the sound is perfection.

Excited to see this old girl be my partner in crime for the foreseeable future and see where life takes us.

(It does seem to be the position is a bit aggressive for long distances, which is mostly what I want to do with it, so we’ll see)

Love the look of these things. I much prefer it to the newer ones. Pure sex. The bit on the front tire is called a fender.

Congrats on the purchase! Always loved the look of the more naked style Ducatis.

And the typical nomenclature would be “Front Fender” rather than “splashguard”

Have fun with her my friend, and be safe!

Thank you! I now know!

This bike is apparently a bit of a good luck charm for the old owner so I hope it is the same for me!

It really really is, it just looks so beautiful but it’s such a... well... Monster underneath; when you see it you just can’t really tell how raw it is beneath the surface.

“The bit on the front tire is called a fender.”

.....if you’re an American.

It could also be a mudguard, according to taste and custom.

Congratulations on being owned by a Monster! The S2R 800 is a very nice bike, and the Termis + carbon fiber makes it even better. You might check to see when the former owner replaced the timing belts - on my 696 they are supposed to be replaced every 15K miles OR 5 years. My little Monster (in the above pic) has been reliable, although the periodic maintenance is a bit more involved than my previous Jap bikes. Enjoy it and ride safe!

Sterotypical red on white wheels and termis.

Im a little jealous. Just a little. Enjoy!

Thanks man!!!

Yeah, it also has the slightly staggered white stripe through the top of the bike.

I’m not entirely sure about the wheels though, I don’t want to upset the color balance with the stripe but I don’t really love the white wheels.

Yeah I know, the maintenance is gonna be a thing, like a thing thing; but it’s an incredible bike, the 800s are supposed to be the best of the bunch of the older era.

Thank you dude it feels good to be part of the Ducati world.
